Chester County Natural Gas

Chester, SC

The Carlisle Associates team provided full architectural and engineering design services and construction administration services for the new Chester County Natural Gas Authority HQ. Carlisle also assisted with interior design aspects, such as color and finish selection, and the management of furniture and fixtures packages. The new HQ includes a new office building with a large display area, training and community room, board room, and multiple administrative offices. The 30’ high skylight in the atrium is central to the administrative office areas and ensures an abundance of sunlight throughout the workday. It also contains the employee break area, kitchen, file area, two glass enclosed conference rooms, and a casual seating area.

Each office opens from the atrium and contains its own window of natural light. The rear-entry to the office building includes a semi-circular, walled patio area with shelters for larger gatherings. Natural gas-powered lanterns are featured on both the front entry and rear patio. The rear section of the office building also houses the Gas-Authority Warehouse, which provides storage for equipment, including gas appliances, gas piping, meters, and a repair bay. The site is fully secured with decorative and security fencing that includes the added protection of motorized gates. There is also a space set aside for any future natural gas filling stations for vehicles.
